The participants in World War II will receive lump sums of 1,000 lei on the 69th anniversary of the victory over fascism marked on May 9. The persons related to the participants in the Second World War and the husbands/wives of the survivors who are unable to work and of those who died in the line of duty will get by 800 lei in assistance, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family.

A sum of 4 million lei will be allocated from the state budget for the purpose.

Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca Monday said the municipality will also offer by 1,000 lei in assistance to the World War II veterans. It’s not yet known how much money the Chisinau City Hall will allocate in this respect.
