A World Bank mission during November 1-5 is assessing the implementation level of the components of the Moldova Education Reform Project. The agenda of discussions includes the progress made in renovating and outfitting the education institutions covered by the project, namely in purchasing equipment for physics, chemistry and biology laboratories and in training the teaching and executive staff and psychopedagogues, IPN reports.
The first meeting was held online on November 1 and involved Minister of Education and Research Anatolie Topală, the PRIM team and representatives of the World Bank led by Anna Olefir, senior education specialist. The social, environmental and financial management aspects of the project will be discussed the next few days.
The last similar WB mission met online in March. The objectives of the current remote visit are to offer assistance to the Ministry of Education and Research in implementing PRIM, to assess the progress made in achieving the project’s development objectives and to analyze the digital initiatives in education.
The Moldova Education Reform Project aims to strengthen the quality of education while supporting the efficiency reforms being implemented in the education sector. It supports the Government of the Republic of Moldova by financing activities that will strengthen the quality of education and will lead to a more efficient education sector.
