Teachers, journalists and representatives of the Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport took part in a workshop staged by the Division with the aim of building communication bridges between the mass media and the education sector, IPN reports.

The Division’s head Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said the event is also designed to establish a more efficient partnership between nurseries/ schools and the mass media. The goal is to make sure that the journalists present the realities in education institutions in a nonpartisan and impartial way.

The participants discussed how the subjects in the education sector are covered by the media and made effort to identify solutions to improve cooperation between the sides. These noted that there should be no barricades between the representatives of the mass media and of the education system. According to them, both the press and the education institutions are responsible for education.

The workshop “Reflections on the educational perspective in the Republic of Moldova. Cooperation with the mass media” forms part of the forum of teacher ideas “Chisinau Dialogue”. The workshop was staged the second consecutive year.
