Works on Cahul – Giurgiulesti railway drawing to a close
The Cahul- Giurgiulesti railway is to be put in commission this week. The announcement comes from first deputy premier Igor Dodon, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The construction works started in 2007. The 50-km railway will have 9 stations. The works, including repairing motorways in 9 villages, are assessed at 837 million lei. The expenditures have been incurred by the state budget, by the Moldovan Railway, by local budgets and other sources.
Igor Dodon says the works of the grain terminal at the Giurgiulesti port are ending and the exports will be possible as of next September. The works on the goods port will end in October. The port is going to become functional as of 2009.
Economy Minister Dodon says the passengers harbor is being improved and will be ready in a couple of months.
The investment accord provides to end all the works by 2010. The oil terminal was put in commission in September 2007.
