The areas covered with trees in Moldova will be extended during the next five years, starting with next year. Minister of the Environment Gheorghe Salaru told a news conference that 13,000 hectares of land and protection strips will be planted with trees, IPN reports.
The cost of the project is about 300 million lei.
A sum of 4 million lei was allocated from the National Ecological Fund in 2013 for extending the wooded areas and for creating parks and wood strips.
