A 61-year-old woman from Chisinau was hit mortally by a car on Grenoble St near the Oncological Polyclinic in the capital city. The Chisinau Police Division said the accident occurred at about 8am on June 18. The woman was crossing the street legally, by a crosswalk, IPN reports.
The woman died on the way to the hospital.
The driver who struck the woman by his car is 21. It is not yet known if he was speeding or was under the influence of alcohol. Criminal proceedings were brought against him.
