A woman was detained during baggage check at the Chisinau International Airport. The passenger, who was scheduled to fly to Antalya, tried to illegally take €39,000 out of the country, IPN reports.

Border guards and customs officers found the money in the suitcase of the 35-year-old Moldovan woman. The entire amount was seized and the case was sent to the criminal investigation division of the Customs Service for further investigation.

The Customs Service stresses the importance of complying with the legislation on declaring the amounts of money when crossing the border and urges citizens to comply with these obligations in order to avoid legal consequences.
