The winners of the 15-th International Wine Contest were awarded. The contest was held within the exhibition ”ExpoVin Moldova - 2006”. The head of Wining department of the Agro-Industrial Company „Moldova-Vin”, Ludmila Netreba, reported the Bid Award was given to Wine and Cognacs Factory of Calarasi for the cognac „Calarasi-Divin” and SA „Dionysos Mereni” for the wine „Reasling brumariu”. The wines „Pinot noire rezerv”, produced by „Acorex Holding”, were awarded with golden medals. Other 24 drinks were awarded with golden medals, and 48 with silver medals and 15 with bronze medals. According to her, the main criteria according to which the winners were appreciated are the quality and high tasting properties, as well as the number of international awards gained previously. About 295 samples of alcoholic drinks, which were tasted and appreciated by specialist of Moldova, France, Austria, Slovakia, Romania, Russia and Ukraine, were exposed at the exhibition. There are 135 wine producers in Moldova. 90% of Moldovan wine production is directed towards export. The amount of exports of wine production in 2005 was - 313 million dollars, increasing with 35 million dollars comparing to 2004. 90% of Moldovan wines are exported in CIS, 10% in western countries, comparing to 2.5% previously.
