The winners of the municipal contest “Teacher of 2016” will become known on March 4. On this occasion, the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport will stage an award ceremony at the Cultural Center “Ginta Latina”. According to the organizers, the competition contributes to increasing the prestige of the profession of teacher and to stimulating creativity.
Acting head of the Municipal Methodological Center Vera Psheneac has told IPN that in Chisinau municipality the contest includes four categories: “Educator of the Year”; “Teacher of the Year”, “Professor of the Year”, and “Interests Club Manager of the Year”.
This year’s contest involves 19 teachers who went through the local stage of the contest first. The contenders took seven tests, including intelligence and ingeniousness ones. To show that they deserve to hold the title, the teachers also gave public lessons in other institutions than those where they work.
This year the competing teachers have work experience of 3 to 28 years. Vera Psheneac said that each year the contenders are better prepared as the contest motivates them to improve their skills and knowledge.
The final gala of the 12th municipal contest “Teacher of 2016” starts at 2:30pm
