Who are the three ministers appointed today

The new Minister of Internal Affairs, Daniella Misail-Nichitin, appointed today, has been working within the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) since 2021. Previously serving as the Ministry’s Secretary of State, she says she is honored to continue the work she started in the field of internal affairs - to build a public order system that is better prepared and capable of responding to challenges at the highest European and international standards, IPN reports.

Daniella Misail-Nichitin graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine at the “Nicolae Testemițanu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy and completed her residency in family medicine. She also studied law at the Academy of Economic Studies. She holds a master’s degree in nonprofit organization management as well as in advocacy and social change.

Starting in 2001, she began her career at the International Center “La Strada,” which she led for several years. In 2021, she became the head of the Internal Affairs Minister’s cabinet, and since 2022, she served as the MIA’s Secretary of State.

Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, holds degrees in history and law. He has a master’s degree in economic law, all obtained at Moldova State University.

He worked in the private sector and, starting in 2019, was elected a deputy on the lists of the Party of Action and Solidarity, also serving as vice-president of the party. In 2022, he was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry.

In his new role, he says he will focus on roads and winter preparation to avoid the problems and tragedies of the previous year. He will also prioritize the development of railway infrastructure, among other tasks. "It always happens that you are both praised and criticized when you work", said Vladimir Bolea in a statement to the press.

The new Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry is entrepreneur Ludmila Catlabuga. She is a graduate of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, specializing in accounting and auditing. She began her professional career in the economic field, gaining experience in various sectors. In 2017, she co-founded the Farmers’ Producers Association. Under her leadership, the association grew from 7 founding members to 130 member farms, strengthening the community of agricultural producers in the country.
