A wheat field of 200 hectares in Maramonovca village of Drochia district was affected by fire. Only 19 hectares burned up as the firefighters managed to extinguish the fire in several hours, IPN reports, quoting the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service.

According to the latest reports, the fire started after the installation of a car exploded. The vehicle was parked near the field and fragments of the installation were projected into the field, causing the fire. To prevent such cases, the Service recommends respecting the anti-fire rules, including purchasing elementary fire extinguishing devices and avoiding smoking and performing works with sources of fire near fields.

In order to avoid the extension of fires, the cultivated sectors must be separated by plowed strips. After the grains are collected, the burning of the area is banned. In case of risks, one should call the 901 Service.
