We need to switch over from exploiting agriculture to natural regeneration practices, researcher

Biotechnology expert of “Prometeu” Experimental Center Alexandru Brătuțel said that it is extremely necessary to switch over from traditional exploiting agriculture to natural regeneration practices. According to him, the natural environment is today distorted by the previous mistakes made when applying old methods to abusively manage natural resources by promoting synthetized imputes hostile to the basis of existence on earth. The scientific researcher addressed a relevant open letter to a number of responsible state institutions, IPN reports.

“The successful experiences on the globe in the last three-four decades clearly showed that there is no other way than “Returning to the Roots” – to irreversibly, incontestably and unconditionally switch over to regenerative nature management practices,” stated Alexandru Brătuțel.

The researcher noted that the imported synthetized imputes (major part of agricultural costs) should be renounced in favor of local natural DIY products. The land plowing practices should also be abandoned and earthworms – the plows of creation in soil – should be brought back simultaneously with the restoration of the volumes of organic matter. Care for the health of social should be accepted as a key mission of the farmer and also of the Government with all its gerent bodies.

“I suggest conducting a broad study to promote Natural Organic Farming in the national agricultural practice, by the successful Korean methodology and model Natural Farming and JADAM Organic Farming, of father Han-Kyu Cho – one of the first modern promoters – and his son Youngsang Cho, who develops the same practices. I would have for everyone the offer to study EM Technology that originated in Japan and a recent offer that contains the promotion of Plasmatic Agriculture so as to forget for good about swine fever and avian influenza and not only,” reads the open letter.

According to the researcher, all these absolutely new practices for the Republic of Moldova will enable the country to develop and to apply successful practices to ensure organic products for domestic consumption and for export, with the import of food products being stopped. “I’m sure that we are all obliged to renounce the theory of agrochemistry from the times of the late Bavarian academician Justus von Liebig, who committed the biggest crime in the history of mankind,” said Alexandru Brătuțel.

He noted that the old thinking should be abandoned so as to become open to cooperation with nature and to stop using soil unwisely. Nature should become again and will inevitably become again the farmers’ guide, as earlier.

The open letter was addressed to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the Ministry of Environment, the administration of the National Food Safety Agency, the Faculty of Agricultural, Forest and Environmental Sciences of the Moldova Technical University (UTM), the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the UTM, the Institute of Genetics, Physiology and Plant Protection, the Institute of Pedology, Agrochemistry and Soil Protection, the National Farmers Federation of Moldova, the Moldova Organic Value Chain Alliance MOVCA, the EcoVisio Association, which is a promoter of sustainable agriculture, the companies “Prograin Organic”, “Agrostoc”, “Bioprotect”, “WeTrade”, SA “Fertilitatea-Chișinău” and “Diolsem”.
