Low temperatures over the next few days will keep ice formations on rivers and water basins. Against this backdrop, experts warn that lying and traveling on frozen waters can have serious consequences, IPN reports.
"In view of the weather forecast of falling air temperature, ice formations - ice on the banks and ice bridges - will be maintained on small rivers in the country from January 4 to 7", the State Hydrometeorological Service says.
At the same time, on some sections of the Dniester, Prut rivers and lakes in the country it is possible that ice formations - ice on the banks and snow on the banks - will appear.
Rescuers are urging parents not to allow minors to be near the lakes, as the fluctuating temperatures form an unstable ice bridge, which could lead to collapse under the ice.
