Vox Populi: PAS – 37.4%, BeCS – 37.1%

Of the 83.2% of the respondents who are decided to go to the polls, 37.4% would vote for the Party of Action and Solidarity, while 37.1% for the Electoral Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists. 6.8% would vote for the Shor Party, 5.5% for the Bloc “Renato Usatîi”, while 5.4% for the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”, shows the sociological survey Vox Populi – July 2021: Socioeconomic situation in the Republic of Moldova ahead of snap parliamentary elections” that was presented today by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

The Party “Democracy at Home” would gain 2.2% of the vote, the Alliance for the Union of Romanians – 1.9%, while the Democratic Party – 1.3%.

Asked what makes them take part in elections, 54% of those polled said the civic duty, 45% - the wish to state their own political position, almost 33% - the wish to influence the country’s fate, nearly 30% - the wish to help the favorite party to enter Parliament, while 20.3% - the wish to prevent the party they do not trust from coming to power.

27.5% of those surveyed said poverty is the major problem with which the future Parliament should deal. About 20% of the respondents consider the future legislature should first of all unite society and solve the political crisis, while 18.4% believe the future legislative body should fight corruption and crime. 15.2% think the country’s economic development is the priority, while 10.7% believe the legislature should help solve the problems related to social infrastructure.

If a referendum on Moldova’s entry into NATO was held next Sunday, 52.7% of those interviewed would vote against, while 26.4 – in favor. Also, 10.1% of the respondents said they would not take part, while 6.5% said they don’t know what NATO stands for.

If a referendum on Moldova’s entry into the European Union or the Eurasian Union (Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Customs Union) was held next Sunday, 44.3% would vote for entry into the EU, while 39.4% - for entry into the Eurasian Union. 5.2% would not go to vote.
