Communist leader Vladimir Voronin says that the MPs from his group, currently part of the parliamentary opposition, will take Speaker Marian Lupu out of his chair and push him down the stairs. The MP referred to the incident that happened on Thursday, when the security, acting on the Speaker's orders, did not let non-parliamentarian politician Victor Shelin enter Parliament's meeting hall. Communist MPs took his side, which spiked altercations. “Next time we will take Lupu out, and push him down the stairs; not only Lupu, but all the so-called democrats. It is not only Shelin we're talking about, it is about principles, it's about respecting the Constitution. We did no such thing in our eight years of leadership. Incidents worse than this one are possible with such leadership”, stated Vladimir Voronin during the “Moldova live” show on the Moldova 1 TV channel. The Communist leader added that he tolerate no more such laws as the one condemning the totalitarian communist regime. “We will not abide by idiotic laws that aim at exterminating us. The Constitutional Court doesn't have the time to elaborate on our requests, because they are undergoing repairs. The issue does not lie in the symbols; it is just a pretext to draw us out of the political life”, underlined Vladimir Voronin, referring to the Law that bans the sickle and hammer symbols. The PCRM leader also stated that he is on good terms with all of the alliance's leaders, and that he advised them, on several occasions, not to make any mistakes, because they will bear responsibility later. “I even warned Mihai Ghimpu that the other alliance leaders will try to get rid of him once they get enough votes from another source”, said Vladimir Voronin. Parliament banned the use of communists symbols for political ends, starting this month, when the law came into effect. The Communists sought the opinion of the Constitutional Court, but have not received a reply yet.
