The Party of Communists is ready for snap parliamentary elections. If these take place, they will be a salvation for the people of the Republic of Moldova, the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin stated in the talk show “Fourth power” on N4 TV channel, IPN reports.
According to Vladimir Voronin, the proportional representation system for electing Parliament should be mandatorily restored. It is easier to buy votes under on the currently used mixed electoral system.
The politician noted that new parliamentary elections should be held only after the proportional representation system is restored and these should take place under very strict international control.
As to eventual coalitions in the new Parliament, Vladimir Voronin said President Igor Dodon could have gone to Moscow again to seek permission for the Party of Socialists to form a majority with the Democratic Party or the bloc ACUM. “Did you see how often Pavel Filip meets with Russia’s ambassador in Chisinau? Quite often. Have you seen such moves until now? No. It means they want to seek permission to form this coalition,” he stated.
