Special representative of the Council of Europe General Secretary, Vladimir Ristovski will continue to contribute to strengthening of Moldovan democratic institutions and to their conformity with CoE values and standards, stated the official in a meeting with the Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev. According to a Governmental press release, Vladimir Ristovski welcomed the stability promoted by Moldovan authorities in their dialogue with CoE, the efficient activity within regional organizations, as well as obtaining of full membership status in the South East Europe Co-operation Process (SEECP). Vasile Tarlev mentioned that the Republic of Moldova is making progresses in democratic reforms and pays special attention to cooperation in this process with the CoE. In this context, head of the Government mentioned that the creation of the Unique Visa issuance Center in EU space for Moldovan citizens and free issuance of them, as well as acquiring the Asymmetric Trade Preferences regime and the Adherence Agreement to European Union will contribute to Moldova economic growth. Within a meeting of the CoE official with the minister of foreign affairs, Andrei Stratan, the head of Moldovan diplomacy asked for the assistance of the CoE in negotiations with European partners in order to offer to the Republic of Moldova preferential visa regime for Moldovan citizens, as well he pleaded for a sooner opening of the Unique Visa issuance Center in EU space. In the meantime, the minister expressed his believe that the European Union will pass to concrete actions for offering the Republic of Moldova the Asymmetric Trade Preferences regime.
