We need more analyses of the waste problem, but there are certainly other solutions that do not involve waste incineration. The statement was made by Vladimir Cebotari, the candidate of the Democratic Party of Moldova for the position of mayor of the capital, at the public debates "Only one from many: who and why?, the third round, organized by the IPN Press Agency.

Vladimir Cebotari has mentioned that within his team there are two different points of view regarding the construction of an incinerator in Chisinau. "One point of view says that it would be a necessary evil, the second that we should oppose with all our might such a project, for it would pose increased risks for the health of the inhabitants of Chisinau", said Vladimir Cebotari.

According to the PDM candidate, the solutions for the waste problem can be applied without incinerating it and without importing animal waste that can be infected and pose danger for health.

The role of the Government and of any governance is very important in solving the problems of the capital, believes the PDM candidate. "It was a mistake that the PDM government did not get involved in solving the problems that citizens were expecting from the Government, which had enough leverage to influence some processes for the better," said Vladimir Cebotari.

In this context, he specified that Filip government feared not to cross the red line of local public autonomy. "The criticism which could have been received, especially from the international community, have stopped firm actions on the part of Filip government as regards solving some problems in the capital," said the PDM candidate.

Vladimir Cebotari has mentioned that he is counting on people who understand that Chisinau does not need politicians and political parties, but managers who know how to bring order, serve the citizens and who have demonstrated this through their professional performance in various institutions.

The debates "Only one from many: who and why?", with the participation of the candidates for the position of general mayor of Chisinau municipality, the third round, are the 120th edition of the cycle "Development of political culture in public debates", supported by the German Foundation Hanns Seidel.
