A Parliament sitting will take place on January 21 and the administration of the legislative body is expected to be elected there, the leader of the PLDM Vlad Filat said in the evening of January 19, after a new round of trilateral PLDM-PDM-PL negotiations on the formation of a government coalition, IPN reports.
“There is no time left. Tomorrow we will have discussions with the European colleagues, while on Wednesday we are to elect the administration of Parliament in the first sitting this year. Discussions can be yet held only tomorrow and during the coming night. I hope we will go to the sitting with an agreement on the formation of a government coalition. If we do not reach this accord, we will hold the plenary sitting without a parliamentary majority and will ask for the vote of our colleagues from the legislative body,” stated the Liberal-Democratic leader.
Filat accused the PL of blocking the negotiations and of avoiding putting forward concrete proposals up to today’s meeting. In the same connection, he criticized the Liberals’ proposal to name a person from outside the country to the post of prosecutor general, arguing a foreigner is not ready to hold such a post.
The head of the PLDM also rejected the idea of distributing all the posts. “We continue to believe that the post of head of state cannot be distributed. As to the ministries, they do not belong to a politician. It is important that the redistribution of the ministries ensure efficiency and functionality,” he stated.
