Prime Minister Vlad Filat on July 4 will commence an extensive process to consult society, the Premier’s spokesman Igor Volnitski announced in a press briefing on Friday. He said that such a decision was taken after the situation in society became tense, affecting governance, Info-Prim Neo reports. Thus, Vlad Filat invites society to consultations through the agency of the National Participation Council, opinion leaders, ambassadors working in Moldova, representatives of trade unions, religions, employers, the Foreign Investors Association of Moldova, the parties that formed the ruling alliance and of the parliamentary opposition and extra-parliamentary parties. According to Igor Volnitski, the consultations will center upon the circumstances in which the Government of Moldova works, the way in which the reforms are implemented, the progress made on the path to European integration, the fight against corruption, the sociopolitical situation in Moldova and other topics of interest to the dialogue partners. Igor Volnitski stressed that the Prime Minister initiates the consultations as Head of Government, not as a political leader. “Vlad Filat will make no public statement about the results of the consultations. During a public address to the people on July 8, he will present the conclusions of the consultations and his official position on the future of the Government that he heads. During the consultations, the Premier will not respond to the political attacked aimed at him and the Government, no matter how dirty they are,” said Igor Volnitski. Vlad Filat is on a four-day private vacation in Turkey. He will return on Saturday, July 9.
