Vitalie Marinuța quit as president of the Ecologist Green Party (PVE) and interrupted his political activities for personal reasons. He posted such an announcement on his Facebook page, IPN reports.
“I sincerely thank the members and sympathizers of the party, the National Council and, especially, the Standing Bureau that were always near me and supported and encouraged me during my tenure,” wrote Vitalie Marinuța.
Vitalie Marinuța was elected president of the Ecologist Green Party in the party’s extraordinary congress of January 2020. Before this, he served as secretary-general of the party. In the July 11, 2021 elections, the Ecologist Green Party gained less than 1% of the vote and could not enter Parliament.
In a reaction, PVE says the Standing Bureau took note of Vitalie Marinuța’s announcement. “We thank Mister Marinuța for his contribution to the development and promotion of the party at national and foreign levels and for his involvement in the propagation of our common ideals. We wish him success in his future activities,” says the party’s message.
Until the congress takes place, the post of president of PVE will be held by the party’s first vice president Anatolie Prohnitski.
