The Green Ecological Party candidate for the position of mayor of Chișinău, Vitalie Marinuța, said that he expects a completely different approach towards the local public administration after the elections set for October 20. The statement was made by the candidate after he cast his vote.

Vitalie Marinuța said that he voted for "the settlements of Moldova to be green, with breathable air, that inspire us to be free and to have a competent administration".

The candidate expects a second election round in Chișinău.

18 people are running for the position of general mayor of the Chișinău municipality. The candidate that gains 50% + one vote will be elected the general mayor of Chișinău municipality. If none of the candidates manages to reach this threshold, a second round of elections is set up, where the first two candidates from the first round compete. The candidate that gets the most votes in the second round, wins.
