Victor Chironda, the candidate of the "New Force" social-political movement for Chisinau mayor, considers that the renovation project of several streets in the city, funded from a 30 million Euros loan provided by the EBRD and the EIB, is poorly managed. The candidate stated at a press conference that the repair works on some streets are substandard.
According to Victor Chironda, the tender process held seven years ago and which awarded the contract to the company DELTA ACM 93, was conducted in an unprofessional manner. The repair works carried out on Stefan cel Mare Boulevard, Negruzzi Boulevard and Vasile Alecsandri Street are of poor quality. Subsequently, DELTA ACM went insolvent.
"We believe that the municipality must terminate the contract with the Romanian company DELTA ACM 93 and open a new competition to select a company capable of building decent roads in an European city,” declared the electoral contestant.
In his opinion, it is necessary to develop new projects for the streets 31 August, Tighina and Alexandru cel Bun, taking into account the Street Design Guide of Chisinau, a document which is for public consultations at the City Hall and a basic instrument for the renovation of city streets.
