Rehabilitated victims of political repressions will get new special identification cards after the Government today decided to allocate 288,000 lei from its Reserve Fund for this purpose.
The funds will go to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, which will order the card through the Public Services Agency. The cost of a new card is estimated at 32 lei, and 9,000 beneficiaries will receive a replacement.
Rehabilitated victims of political repressions receive monthly payouts of 500 lei and are entitled to a lump-sum aid of 1,000 lei. They also benefit from free annual medical examinations, rehabilitation treatment at the Government’s hospital and a 50% discount on sanatorium tickets.
