Veris Chisinau aims to score one more victory in Moldova’s Cup, this time in the final. After eliminating Olimpia Balti, Dacia Chisinau and Milsami Orhei, the leader of Division A wants to win the trophy by beating FC Tiraspol. Veris and FC Tiraspol will meet in a Cup final for the first time and a victory would mean the greatest accomplishment for both of them, IPN reports.
“We want to win this trophy so as to crown this season with success,” Veris coach Danut Oprea said in a news conference held before the match. The Romanian coach said only Moldovan footballers will play in the final, which is a wonderful thing for Moldova, according to him.
Even if FC Tiraspol is rated a favorite in the encounter, the team’s coach Vlad Goian has another opinion. “There is only one match to be played and the chances are equal. Everything can happen. I think the psychological factor will be decisive. Both of the teams want to win,” said Vlad Goian.
The two officials added that the teams will be supported by a large number of fans on the sports ground. The final of Moldova’s Cup will be played on the Zumbru Stadium on May 26. The match will be controlled by a group of foreign referees.
