The introduction of electronic voting and enabling of the citizens to stop anti-people bills. These are some of the priorities of independent candidate for MP Veaceslav Valico. He noted he is not financially supported by the former leader of the PDM Vlad Plahotniuc or by controversial businessman Veaceslav Platon, even if the latter was registered officially by the CEC as his right-hand man, IPN reports.
In a new electoral debate at IPN, independent candidate Veaceslav Valico criticized the way in which the Republic of Moldova has been governed since the declaring of Independence, saying mafia clans ruled and stole public funds, ignoring the real problems of the citizens.
“I will insist on the amnestying of persons who got stuck in debts after taking out loans from microfinance companies. I will bring things in the pharmaceutical sector in order. Our drugstores rob the people in proportion of 50%,” stated Vaceslav Valico.
He said he also aims to engage the citizens in the decision-making process by offering them the right of veto as the people should be able to stop the bills that go against the interests of society.
“The solution is simple – to introduce electronic voting, to adopt a legislative proposal to ban monopoly on the adoption of laws. They come to Parliament to adopt only those laws that facilitate stealing. The most important is the VETO right. When the citizens realize that anti-people bills are passed in Parliamen,t they should be able to block any initiative that goes against the people’s interests by electronic vote. We should enable the people to say NO to this chaos,” stated Valico.
He denied the assertions that he took money from notorious Moldovan businessmen.
“I have nothing to do with Plahotniuc or Platon. I’m a civic activist and through the agency of my activity, I communicate with people who can influence some of the processes in the Republic of Moldova. I didn’t take money from anyone. I cooperated with everyone so as to try and change something in the country that bills needed by the people are adopted,” stated Veaceslav Valico.
In the July 11 snap parliamentary elections, independent candidate Veaceslav Valico will be last on the ballot.
The fifth electoral debate of the series “Analyzing Electoral Supply and Demand-2021” also involved the representative of the Party of Regions of Moldova Alexandr Kalinin.
IPN’s sixth electoral debate set for July 6, 11:15am, will feature the election contenders People Power Party, the Common Action – Civic Congress Party and Moldova’s Patriots Party.
