Veaceslav Titica was named Moldova’s best rugby player of 2017. The 34 year old has been captaining the national team for several years, IPN reports.

This is the third time Titica wins the player of the year award in Moldova. He plays for Kuban Krasnodar, which narrowly missed a top 3 finish last season in the Russian championship.

Sergiu Morosanu was named the best forward after two tries in the games against the Netherlands and Switzerland. Sergiu Budaian became the back of the year, while Dumitru Bilici received recognition as the best young player.
