Veaceslav Platon was named the right-hand man for Chisinau Municipal Electoral Constituency No. 1 of the only independent candidate running in the snap parliamentary elections of July 11, Veaceslav Valico, IPN report.

According to rapporteur Veaceslav Agrigoroae, CEC member, a request to this effect was made by independent candidate Veaceslav Valico on June 23. In their activity, the right-hand persons abide by the provisions of the Election Code and the regulations concerning the right hands of election contenders.

Six CEC members voted in favor, one member refrained and one voted against.

Veaceslav Platon was acquitted in the bank fraud case after being sentenced to 18 years in jail and serving four years in prison. The Prosecutor General’s Office initiated the procedure for reviewing the case and on May 28 this year the prosecutors dropped the charges against the businessman.
