Fugitive convict Veaceslav Platon was booed at a polling station in London, where he is currently located. Moldovans waiting their turn to vote hurled accusations at him, calling him a liar. The situation escalated, and London police had to intervene, according to IPN.

Platon shouted back, attempting to defend himself, insisting that he was innocent and challenging anyone with evidence against him to present it. The tension subsided only after the police intervened, reportedly removing Platon from the scene.

Previously, Veaceslav Platon was found guilty of creating and leading a criminal organization, as well as embezzling over 126 billion rubles from Russia through the Moldovan bank Moldindconbank. Recently, it was announced that he is involved in a new criminal case in Russia, accused of illegally transferring 48 billion rubles out of the country through the "Laundromat" scheme.

Several experts have previously reported that the fugitive oligarch Veaceslav Platon spent thousands of euros on Facebook promotion, with the primary goal of spreading panic in society and discrediting Moldova's European integration process. Platon promoted ads on his personal Facebook page and on that of Natalia Morari, a presidential candidate and the mother of his child. Morari has denied any financial involvement of Platon in her campaign.
