Vasile Năstase: We propose good things for people, but Government rejects them

“The parliamentary opposition formulated a lot of good proposals for the people. Regrettably, not all of them were accepted by the majority coalition and the government in general,” MP of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Vasile Năstase noted in a public debate titled “How much and how Parliament worked for the people during spring-summer session?”, which was staged by IPN News Agency.

The MP said the parliamentary commission on culture, education, youth, sport and the media, whose vice chairman he is, achieved a number of results in different areas.

“We have a commission with representatives of all the parties that works based on consensus. It includes very good experts and drafted the cinematography law. We designed good amendments to the law on access to information and hope that they will be passed. We are now drafting the Intellectual Property Code and held public debates in this regard. We are also working on the law on sports. There were aspects related to the pandemic, the Baccalaureates exams and others and we identified good methods and proposals for solving those problems,” stated Vasile Năstase.

He noted that in general, the government and the majority coalition didn’t take into account the opposition’s proposals during the spring-summer session.

“There are many moments that I simply cannot understand. There are good things for the people, but those from this unnatural coalition or what’s left of it do not want to accept them. They block our proposals and the reaction witnessed in Parliament, when the motion was debated, derived from here as not everyone understands what’s going on,” said the MP.

According to him, the PPPDA is ready to take part in extraordinary sittings of Parliament in the hope that their proposals will be adopted. “Besides, we work in constituencies and have projects for the localities of those districts too,” concluded Vasile Năstase.

The debate “How much and how Parliament worked for the people during spring-summer session?” was the 145th installment of the series “Developing political culture through public debates” that is supported by the Hanns Seidel Foundation of Germany.
