The Premier Energy Distribution Company has filed a request to amend the development plan for the purpose of re-supplying the existing electricity grids in the village of Varnitsa in Anenii Noi district and the village of Copanca in Causeni district. The request comes in the context of the decision of the Commission for Exceptional Situations to provide the two localities with energy, IPN reports.
The request submitted to ANRE concerns the amendment of the 2023-2025 Development Plan. "The proposed amendments aim to ensure the continuity and reliability of power supply in the localities of Varnitsa, Anenii Noi rayon, and Copanca, Causeni rayon, by re-supplying the existing power grids in these localities", the company says.
Under the project, it is proposed to develop the F16 PDC 169 10kV overhead power line F16 PDC 169 to the village of Varnița, which will include the construction of a 4.8 km section of 10 kV underground line and 3.1 km of 10 kV overhead line, as well as the installation of a 10/6kV link transformer. It will also develop the 10kV overhead power line F01 PDC-112SV F01 to Copanca village by constructing a one-kilometer section of 10 kV overhead line.
"The main purpose of these works is to bring electricity to the settlements of Varnitsa and Copanca and prepare their connection to the Premier Energy Distribution grid," a press release said.
On January 1, 2025 Gazprom completely stopped gas supplies to Moldova. Thus, the citizens of the Transnistrian region were left without heating and hot water. The Cuciurgan power plant produces coal-fired electricity and electricity disconnections are taking place on the left bank of the Dniester in order to save resources.
According to the CSE decision of January 6, Moldovagaz is also to supply gas to 14 villages in the Anenii Noi, Causeni and Dubasari districts.
