Valeriu Zubco remains Prosecutor General
Valeriu Zubco will continue to head the Prosecutor General’s Office as he was named for a certain period and did not break the law for being dismissed, Acting President Marian Lupu said after a meeting centering on the work of the Prosecutor General’s Office in 2010, Info-Prim Neo reports.
”There is a great difference between the prosecutor general and the ministers who are replaced every time a new Cabinet is formed. The law says clearly that the managers of such institutions as the Prosecutor General’s Office are appointed for a particular period and specifies the cases when they can be discharged. We must observe the law if we consider our country a state of law,” said Marian Lupu.
Valeriu Zubco was appointed Prosecutor General in 2009.
