Former prosecutor general Valeriu Zubco was fined 6,000 lei for not declaring the conflict of interests in the case of the December 23 fatal hunting incident in the Domneasca Forest, in which he took part, IPN reports.
On March 26, Zubco was summoned to the National Anticorruption Center to provide explanations over the conflict of interests in this case.
National Integrity Commission head Anatolie Donciu, who notified the National Anticorruption Center about the conflict of interests, has told IPN that Valeriu Zubco didn’t inform that he took part in the hunting. In such situations, the functionaries must inform the hierarchically superior institution about what happened. When there is no such institution, as in the case of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the information is made known to the National Integrity Commission.
