Valeriu Munteanu, candidate of Save Basarabia Union Political Party for the position of general mayor of Chisinau municipality, says that Termoelectrica, the company that provides heating for the inhabitants of the capital, must be subordinated to the City Hall. At a press conference, the candidate has stated that only in Chisinau and in the city of Minsk, the capital of Beralus, the company producing and supplying thermal agent belongs to the state, IPN reports.
According to the candidate, Chisinau City Hall has no say in the tariff setting and the public debates that take place at the National Agency for Energy Regulation are not enough to establish a fair tariff.
"As an economic agent, Termoelectrica is coldly, harshly, strictly interested only in the tariff," maintains Valeriu Munteanu.
Valeriu Munteanu believes that, if Termoelectrica were subordinated to the City Hall, the mayor would be held responsible by the inhabitants of the capital and would fight for a tariff in favour of Chisinau dwellers. He has also said that since the housing management companies went bankrupt, the tenants can no longer object to the current actions of Termoelectrica.
