Valeriy Klimenco, the candidate of the "Șor" Political Party, says he wants to make the city of Chisinau comfortable for its inhabitants, as the party team managed to do in Orhei. The candidate argues that the party he represents wants first to double the capital’s budget without raising taxes for citizens, which will allow for the subsequent implementation of projects. The statements were made at the public debates "Only one from many: who and why?", organized by the IPN Press Agency.

According to Valerii Klimenco, under the leadership of the "Șor" Party, Orhei which until recently was a provincial town, has become the most comfortable and advanced town in the country: "It has become a popular place for people from all over the country, but also from abroad who come to spend their free time there.

The Orhei municipality project model, says the candidate, is proposed to all settlements where the Party has candidates, including Chisinau. "We have built a model and we say that if you want this model to be implemented in your settlement, you should support the "Sor" Political Party, urged Valeri Klimenco.

The candidate believes that the projects proposed by his counter-candidates for the City Hall, especially the infrastructure projects, are not meant to be implemented in the next ten years, because the city in the past ten years has been experiencing a budget deficit.

"Based on the increase in the budget we will be able to move forward, otherwise these are just empty words," said the candidate.

The electoral contender thinks that in Chisinau street lighting must be totally changed, especially on the outskirts of the city. "We can solve this problem in a few months." He also says that at present, the problem of street lighting has been solved in the settlements where the "Sor" Political Party is in power.

In other news, Valerii Klimenco has said that the leader of the party that he represents, Ilan Șor, is in the country, but that there are no proofs for accusing him of certain illegalities.

The debates "Only one from many: who and why?", with the participation of the candidates for the position of general mayor of Chisinau municipality, second round, are the 120th edition of the cycle "Development of political culture in public debates", supported by the Foundation German Hanns Seidel.
