The immunization against seasonal flu is under way in the municipality of Chisinau. The Chisinau Public Health Center received 28,000 shots of vaccine made in the Netherlands for vaccinating people forming part of the risk groups, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the Center, the vaccines against flu will be administered in public and private medical-sanitary institutions at the place of residence, following the instructions of the family doctor, starting with this week.
Under an order made by the Ministry of Health, the people suffering from bronchial asthma, rental, respiratory and heart failure, tuberculosis, diabetes, and immunodeficiency disorders, including HIV/AIDS, the recipients of transplants, pregnant women, children in orphanages and children’s homes, the elderly people and invalids in rest homes will be immunized free of charge.
The personnel of public medical-sanitary institutions, students and residents of medical universities and colleges, the staff of social insurance institutions, placement centers, orphanages, children’s homes, rest homes and other institutions will also be vaccinated gratis.
The others are vaccinated for money. A vaccine costs about 250 lei. It is administered in private medical centers.
The vaccine Influvac contains three types of flu viruses: A/California/7/2009(H1N1), A/Texas/50/2012(H3N2), and B/Massachusetts/2/2012. This vaccine formula is recommended by the World Health Organization.
