Vacation in Vienna and European money helped Olesea Plugaru start meat business

A vacation spent in Austria changed the life of Olesea Plugaru from Moldova. She spent a few days with her husband in Vienna and was delighted to see how the people there stood in line for baked knuckle. Inspired by this business idea, the spouses returned to Moldova being sure that they can build such a business model at home.

“Carmangeria BARDA” was founded in 2018, with three employees. Then, in October 2020, we started marketing the products, increased quantities and hired more workers in the production unit. There were around 30 people,” said administrator Olesea Plugaru.

The enterprise was developed thanks to the “Women in Business” Program managed by the Organization for the Development of Entrepreneurship, to which Olesea Plugaru applied and obtained a grant of 165,000 lei. The money was used to purchase the necessary equipment and promote her business. Two years later, the entrepreneur accessed a new grant of 158,000 lei with which she bought a steam generator for sanitizing the rooms in the production unit and a dishwasher and trays.

“The financial support from the state is very significant for us. We thank the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union. I call on the men, women, young people who have an entrepreneurial spirit and want to start a business to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the state,” Olesea Plugaru said with confidence.
