The pool of the Moldova State University (USM), located on 31 August 1989 Street, behind the Government Building, is under extensive renovation. The works are financed by the Ministry of Education and Research with about 10 million lei. The money was allocated from funds intended for the modernization of public higher education institutions, IPN reports.
The project includes the complete rehabilitation of the pool by modernizing the water filtration system, repairing the lighting, the water supply and sewerage networks, and also the redevelopment of the adjoining area. The auxiliary rooms, changing rooms and heating and electricity systems will also be renovated.
"We are witnessing repairs that were long awaited. The students of the University will benefit from modern conditions, aligned with the standards of good governance," said secretary of state of the Ministry of Education Sergiu Gurin.
After the completion of the works, the pool will provide improved conditions for students and all those who visit it.
