USM Law Faculty has a new studying block
The Law Faculty of the State University of Moldova (USM) will have, staring with the 2006-2007 school year, a new block with 8 floors, constructed around the factory “Topaz”.
Prime Pro-rector of USM, Petru Gaugas, noted that for the construction of the new block, USM must spend together with the European Law University about 39 million lei. The new building has the capacity of 2,000 students and has specific campus studying conditions, including a library, computer and foreign language rooms, laboratories, kitchen, etc.
Petru Gaugas declared this construction was needed due to the increasing demand for this faculty.
According to the USM pro-rector for didactic activity, Elena Muraru, in 2005-2006 at the Law Faculty were matriculated about 800 students.
