The commanding general of the North Carolina Army & Air National Guard, Major General Greg Lusk joined U.S. Ambassador William H. Moser at the World War II memorial “Eternity” to lay flowers in memory of those fallen, in commemoration of the upcoming Victory Day, IPN reports.
According to a press release from the U.S. Embassy, General Lusk visited Moldova recently as part of the ongoing bilateral relationship between Moldova and North Carolina. He discussed how the North Carolina National Guard could continue to assist Moldova to develop its disaster preparedness, cyber security, peacekeeping, and medical capabilities.
During his visit, General Lusk met with Acting Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta, Commanding General of the Moldovan Armed Forces Brigadier General Vitalie Stoian, as well as several unit commanders of the Moldovan Army.
The North Carolina State Partnership Program with Moldova began in 1995. Through the Partnership Program, Americans from North Carolina provided free dental care to underprivileged children and donated tens of thousands of dollars in humanitarian aid. This year the North Carolina-Moldova State Partnership Program began a new program to improve Moldova's nursing capabilities.
