On Mesterul Manole Street in the Ciocana sector of the capital, more than 130 trees of the Japanese camphor, larch, cypress and Himalayan pine species have been planted. This is the stretch between Mircea cel Batran Boulevard and Vadul lui Voda Street, IPN reports.
"The urban forest-type planting actions we are participating in today reduce the impact of climate change and help prevent soil erosion," said the capital's deputy mayor Ilie Ceban.
The creation of the new urban forest on Mesterul Manole Street is part of the unified concept for the development of green spaces in Chisinau municipality, which aims to increase the number of green areas that absorb pollutants.
