UNDP announces an auction for regional social partnership consolidation projects

The United Nations Development Program in Moldova (UNDP) announced an auction for pilot projects that will consolidate regional social partnerships. The auction will be part of the “Support for elaboration, monitoring and evaluation of strategic policies in the Republic of Moldova” program. As result of the auction, the executor will be responsible for the initiation and maintenance of constructive procedures that will aid the decision-making process at local and regional level; the improvement of social partners’ skills (local public administration, civil society, private sector) in regional decision-making processes; the undertaking of one or several (up to five, depending on the quality of the offers) test projects in such raions as Cahul, Dubasari, Hancesti, Orhei, Soroca, Stefan-Voda, Ungheni. Detailed information about the required services and application procedures can be found on the web-site of UNDP Moldova www.undp.md/tenders. The application deadline is 25 September 2006. The program offers support for the Government of the Republic of Moldova in the strategic long term planning process in order to fulfill national Millennium Development Objectives (MDO), as well as in the monitoring and evaluation of the tasks of the Economic Growth and Poverty Reduction Paper (EGPRSP), MDO and the Objectives of the EU – RM Action Plan. The program is intended to improve the abilities of local and central administrations, as well as civil social organizations, to elaborate, monitor and evaluate the actions of politics and development programs. At present, the joint program is financed by UNDP, UNICEF and the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency.
