Ukrainian refugees who want to reach Romania or other European destinations have several options to choose from, with bus rides, train rides and flights offered by the Moldovan Government, announced during a press conference Dumitru Udrea, head of the Crisis Management Center.
During March 8-11, about 6,000 people were transported by minibus or bus and 2,800 others by train. Almost 900 refugees took flights to Israel, Bulgaria and Turkey, with other flights to be organized in the coming days to Germany, Turkey, Spain and Poland.
Ukrainian refugees willing to migrate further have the opportunity to register for irregular flights by filling out an online form on the Civil Aviation Authority’s website - www.caa.md/repatriere.
There are about 131,000 Ukrainian refugees in Moldova at the moment, a number that has been declining lately. There are 93 authorized refugee placement centers in the country, with 3.8 thousand beds available. Today the installation of signage on national roads directing refugees to crossings on the border with Romania will be completed.
Dumitru Udrea encouraged Ukrainian refugees to use the resource platform dopomoga.gov.md, which synchronizes all the useful information on the refugee crisis in Moldova. Updates from crisis management institutions are collected here. Dopomoga.gov.md also provides information on the most active groups on social media that can help refugees in Ukraine, but also for Moldovan citizens who want to help them.
