Ukraine will back Moldova if Transnistria wages war, expert thinks
If the Transnistrian region launches an attack against the Republic Moldova or if Russia engages in aggression, Ukraine will be there for Moldova, thinks Dr. Grigoriy Perepelitsa of the Ukrainian Strategic Research Institute.
Perepelitsa made the statement during a round table meeting at the OSCE Mission in Tiraspol themed “Prospects of settling the Transnistrian conflict in the wake of the hostilities in Caucasus – Ukraine's Vision”, Info-Prim Neo's field correspondent reports.
Grigoriy Perepelitsa went on to add that the best plan for settling the Transnistrian dispute was that of Ukraine's President Victor Yushchenko.
The opinion was met with visible disagreement from most of the attendees, students and NGO members from Tiraspol.
