Kiev criticized the Russian president's proposal to introduce a temporary administration in Ukraine under the aegis of the UN, IPN reports.
Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, noted that Putin's plan has no real intention to end his full-scale invasion for good.
"He is doing everything to delay and disrupt the movement towards peace because he is not interested in ending the war. Therefore, he constantly comes up with some crazy ideas and demands," Kovalenko posted on Telegram.
The Russian leader suggested introducing a temporary administration in Ukraine, which would facilitate the organization of democratic elections in Kiev, and then start negotiations for a peace treaty.
Putin repeatedly stated that he does not consider Volodymyr Zelenskyy a legitimate president of Ukraine as the presidential election that was supposed to be held in Kyiv in 2024 did not take place on time. Ukrainian law prohibits the holding of any elections under martial law.
