Ukraine can supply coal to the Transnistrian region, said President Maia Sandu. The official noted that there is a possibility to supply coal to MGRES in Tiraspol so that the citizens there do not remain without electricity. The statement was made during a visit to Varnița on Thursday.
"I discussed yesterday with the President of Ukraine and a potential solution is for Ukraine to supply coal to the power generation enterprise and to the left bank of the Nistru so that this produces electricity and the left bank of the Nistru pays Ukraine. It can be a solution. Chisinau and Kiev are to discuss this potential solution," said the head of state.
The Ukrainian President also assured the Moldovan side that he is ready to help, including with coal supplies. The statement was made at Volodymyr Zelenskyy's conference on Wednesday evening.
"The entire energy situation in Moldova at present, especially on the left bank of the Nistru, is due to Russia's attempt to manipulate energy resources against the Moldovan authorities. It is very important to maintain stability and provide all the Moldovan people with conditions to live in peace and work for their country so as to overcome poverty and go together towards the European Union," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Meanwhile, according to the press, the so-called foreign minister in Tiraspol said that the Transnistrian region continues to regard Russia as a gas supplier.
