Ukraine allows grain exports to Moldova in limited amounts
Ukraine allowed the export of 1,203 tonnes of grains to Moldova, for the purpose of ensuring the country’s food stability and security, following the last summer’s drought.
The decision is valid until 31 March 2008.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, Decision no.1179 of 26 September 2007 of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers, which stipulates the export of 600,000 tonnes of corn, 400,000 tonnes of barley, 200,000 tonnes of fodder wheat of class VI and 3,000 tonnes of rye, has recently entered into force.
The export of food wheat from Ukraine remains banned.
