A boy aged two died on the way to the hospital after being hit by a car in Macaresti, Ungheni. Ungheni District Hospital director Maria Rotaru has told IPN that the child had the liver and spleen seriously damaged.
The child’s parents are abroad. The boy remained in the grandmother’s care.
According to the head of the local police unit Radu Rudicov, the accident happened in the yard of a house. The motorist, who is a family relative, drove backward without seeing the boy who was playing at the back of the vehicle.
Specialists recommend being very careful when driving in yards. Before starting the car, the parents must check where the children are as they are small and cannot be seen in the mirror.
