Two villages to hold mayoral runoffs Sunday
On Sunday, Danu commune in Glodeni district and Hristici village in Soroca district will hold runoffs to elect their mayors, Info-Prim Neo reports.
As the Central Election Commission recalled in a press release, in Danu commune, Communist Zinovia Timinscaia, with 358 votes garnered in the first round, challenges Democrat Mihail Ursu, with 557 votes in the first round. In Hristici village, the mayor's office is contested between Democrat Dumitru Cebotari and Liberal-Democrat Eugenia Raileanu, with 254 votes and 189 votes in the first round, respectively.
The second round will be held with the participation of the same electoral bodies and based on the same voter rolls.
On November 11, five villages held snap mayoral elections and three of them elected mayors in the first round.
