According to the data presented by the Central Electoral Commission on their website, after processing two thirds of the procès-verbaux, the Socialist Party candidate, Ion Ceban, accumulated 43.52% of the votes, while the ACUM Electoral Bloc candidate, Andrei Năstase, gained 30.08%.
According to preliminary data, the Liberal Party candidate, the former mayor Dorin Chirtoacă, accumulated 8.81% of the votes and came in third. All other candidates have under 5%.
The candidate who accumulates 50% + one vote in the mayoral race, wins the election. If none of the candidates manages to reach this threshold, a second round of elections is organized in which the first two hopefuls from the previous round participate. The candidate that gathers the most number of votes in the second round, wins.
After processing two thirds of the protocols for the Chișinău Municipal Council, the results are as follows: PSRM - 41.11%, the ACUM Bloc - 31.71%, PL - 5.74%, PPȘor - 4.06%, PDM - 3.36%, PUN - 2.63%, Forța Nouă Movement - 2.15%. All other electoral competitors have less than 2%.
